Spanning Years 7 to 12, the Blue Mountains Grammar Senior School is dedicated to offering students an experience that prepares them for the world beyond the classroom, working towards developing responsibility and independence, with an emphasis on the character, integrity and sense of justice of our students so that they are in a position to contribute to their world.
The Senior School works hard to provide direction and care, giving students the necessary support they need to keep on track and on time with their studies. This is effectively promoted through our House groups which are small enough to allow for care that is both relational and engaging in an environment where a comprehensive suite of subjects supports preparation for life beyond the school years.
At BMGS our aim is to graduate whole individuals within a strong academic framework, to prepare our students to journey out beyond what they find comfortable, with courage and confidence. We value critical thinking and strive to build appropriate self-esteem in all our students.
The Senior School’s emphasis is as much about creating strong, solid members of society as it is about academic success. While our academic standards and results are extremely high, we believe such results must be strengthened and complemented by a lively engagement with the world. We equip young men and women not only to win places at leading universities, but to flourish when they get there. We look to instil not only resilience and confidence, but also a sense of co- operation, understanding and self-discipline.
