2009 Annual Alumni Reunion

On Saturday, 19th September, members of our Alumni from 1947 to 2007 gathered on the Coorah Lawn to catch up with classmates and ex-staff.

Blessed with a superb Spring day, our ex-students and their guests enjoyed a leisurely lunch, which was accompanied by classical music, provided by a trio of ex-students: violinists Elizabeth Cooney (2005) and Greta Beaumont (2007) and celloist, Hayley Rush (2007). Following lunch, many took the opportunity to stroll the grounds.

Among our guests were many members of the Class of 2004, celebrating their 5-year reunion, members of our Golden Oldies and past members of staff. We were also delighted to have a number of ex-student leaders join together on our Captains' Table.

That evening, the Class of 1989 reunited, in Kedumba Gallery, for a special dinner in honour of their 20-year Reunion.

Class of 1999 - Celebrating their 10-year Reunion!

On Saturday, 1st August, more than half of the graduates of 1999 gathered in the Kedumba Gallery to celebrate their 10-year reunion.

Following a welcome by the Headmaster, Mr. Barman, the ex-students enjoyed a relaxed lunch in the Gallery, before taking an impromptu tour around the School grounds.

We were delighted to see so many of this graduating year returning to BMGS - see below for a selection of photographs from the event.

The next event in our Alumni calendar will take place on Saturday 19th September with our Lunch on the Green. All members of BMGS Alumni are welcome to join us on this special day (even those who have had special reunions already this year!). A seperate function will be held that evening for those celebrating their 20-year reunion - however all ex-students are welcome to gather on this special Saturday in September.

Daffodil Update!

The Daffodil Drive held in March this year has already proven to have been an outstanding success! Although a little early, the bulbs are up and the drive already has a beautiful yellow lining! This drew many comments from those members of the School community who were able to join us at the Dedication of the new Chapel on Sunday 20th July.

We again thank all members of our Alumni, and current School families and friends, who so generously supported the Drive, either in person on the day or via donation for helping us to bring the daffodils back to BMGS.

Such were the numbers of donated bulbs, that we were able to incorporate daffodils in the landscaping of the new Chapel and further, our Archivist, Mrs. Marlene Plummer has now established a garden lining the pathway between the Junior and the Senior Schools. This new garden, together with the driveway beds, will frame the Coorah lawns with gold each Spring.

We were delighted to welcome back so many members of the Class of 1998 for their 10-year reunion, which took place on Saturday, 2nd August in the Kedumba Gallery. A gallery of images taken on the day can be viewed on this page.
