Blue Mountains Grammar School is a Christian school in the Anglican tradition. It is founded on the conviction that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour and that God has created each of us in His image, for a personal relationship with Him. The Christian faith is publicly celebrated and Christian values are embedded, permeating every aspect of the School’s life.
Students from all backgrounds are welcomed. The School encourages all students to explore the Christian message and its implications for each of them through formal instruction, debate, pastoral care, Chapel and informal discourse, so that each student can come to an informed and free decision about their own personal belief. We make explicit the core values that arise out of the Christian Gospel and we seek to commend the Gospel message and those values.
Religious and Values Education is a core subject in which students are invited to explore the big questions of life; to engage in dialogue and to be open to explore the central teachings of the Christian faith. In other subjects students should expect, from time to time, to be challenged to consider issues from a Christian perspective.
